TMG looking to appoint Olympics editor, says report

By Nneka Opara

Telegraph Media Group is looking to increase its coverage of the forthcoming 2012 London Olympics with the appointment of a dedicated editor, according to a report today.

According to Media Guardian TMG executives believe coverage of the games will extend beyond the sports sections to dominate other areas of their papers, including business and culture, in the run up to 2012.

An unnamed source is quoted saying: ‘It’s a very senior job they are making in terms of someone who would be in the paper and [on] website talking about the Olympics and being a commentator.”

TMG declined to comment when approached by the Guardian.
