Tim Davie: BBC move north will be tough for families

By paulmcnally

The BBC’s new director of audio and music, Tim Davie, has defended the decision to move FiveLive to Salford in 2011 – but conceded that the move will be tough for families.

Quoted in this week’s Ariel, he said: “The argument for a live news presence, a news hub in the north of England, is hard to resist.

“The truth is we’re going. It’s very important for the BBC. It will be tough for families.”
