ThoughtWorks oversees Guardian’s web migration project

By paulmcnally

More than 75 per cent of the Guardian’s web traffic is now being served by its new content management system, nicknamed R2, according to ThoughtWorks, the IT consultancy overseeing the move.

News, politics and the Observer sites moved over to the new system this month, to coincide with the site’s rebranding as Guardian.co.uk instead of Guardian Unlimited. Education and sport are among the areas yet to migrate.

ThoughtWorks has been working with Guardian News and Media on the migration project, which has been keeping around 25 developers, analysts and project managers busy.
