The Sun matches Daily Star 20p cover price in London

By paulmcnally

The Sun is going back to charging a cut-price 20p in London in a bid to claw back circulation from the Daily Star.

The News International tabloid will match the Star’s 20p cover price from Monday, according to the Guardian, but will stay at 30p elsewhere in the UK.

The paper did the same in September 2007 in an attempt to keep its circulation above three million. Today it stands at 2,957,960 (down 5.56 per cent year on year) while the Daily Star is up 12.65 per cent on 822,646.
