Texas hyperlocal story goes global

A story that originally appeared as on a hyperlocal website in Texas has gone global, Lousie Thomas shows on Johnston Press’s Digital Digest blog.

The story, about the a wedding cake custom-made in the shape of the bride, first appeared on NeighborsGo, a community website and newspaper run by the Dallas Morning News and television station WFAA.

It later attracted on CNN via its “I-report” citizen journalism tool and has since been in both the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror.
