Former Daily Mail journalist Natasha Courtenay-Smith has tapped into the growing market for real-life case studies in the tabloids and glossy weeklies.
TalkToThePress.com, which she set up last year, acts as a middle-man between people with stories to tell and publications, which typically pay in the region of £300 for a case study.
“I was doing shifts at Closer and regional agencies would send in copy, but it would need to be rewritten and the case study would need to be re-interviewed,” she tells the Independent. “I thought that was outrageous. Effectively they were paying for the contact number.”
