Stephen Fry named most influential man in the world. . . again

By Axegrinder

Axegrinder was amused this afternoon when a survey of the top 49 influential men in the world arrived.

Normally such correspondence is filed indirectly into the bin after it is transformed into a paper airplane. But before origami could commence, a few of the names started jumping out from the list.

The survey was conducted by Askmen.com who asked 40,000 readers. Unsurprisingly Stephen Fry is the most influential man in the universe.

However, the New Statesman’s recent guest editor Russell Brand creeps in at 12, beating Barack Obama.

Guardian NSA leaker Edward Snowden  is number 17 on the list, while Peter Capaldi – who played Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger in the Fifth Estate movie is 19.

Rusbridger, however, does make the list at number 36, ahead of Piers Morgan at 39.

Labour leader Ed Miliband according the readers of Ask Men is more influential than Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre, who just squeezes onto the list ahead of Jay Z.

Mike Goldstein, Publisher of AskMen said: “Stephen Fry's influence has been recognised by our readers he's used his position and massive social reach to raise awareness of Russia's questionable laws.”

Although, it seems that not being a man is no impediment to inclusion on the list, with Robert Galbraith  beating Pope Francis at 28.
