Speaker spent £80,000 on PR man

By Patrick

The Daily Telegraph today reveals that the House of Commons Speaker Michael Martin spent £82,305 of public money for the services of public relations expert Mike Granatt. The paper issued a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

Granatt was hired in 2005 but resigned last weekend after the Mail on Sunday revealed that Martin’s office had misled him about £4,000 worth of taxi journies, used by Martin’s wife.
