Bauer’s car buying news website, Parkers.co.uk, has published a new ABCe certificate, reporting a slight year-on-year dip in traffic from record highs last year.
The site, which has undergone a complete redesign this year, saw monthly unique users fall 0.88 per cent year on year to 1,204,198 in March 2009. Bauer said the car market had been “extremely tough”.
In its previous ABCe certificate, for March 2008, the site posted 1,214,847 monthly uniques.
Parker’s editor Kieren Puffett said: “Over the last few months Parker’s have broken some front page stories, achieving unprecedented coverage in national and broadcast media.
“A prime example was our expose on used cars becoming more expensive than new. We have also been ready to fight the consumer’s corner, commentating on important issues, such as the Government’s current scrappage scheme.
“It is telling that some of our key competitors are not currently releasing their official traffic figures.”
