By paulmcnally

After his purchase of Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones, Rupert Murdoch is eyeing Newsday, the tenth-biggest daily newspaper in the US.

According to the Independent, Murdoch is looking to merge the Long Island-based title – valued by analysts at about £200m – with the New York Post.

New York Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman is also reported to have been approached by Newsday’s owners, the Tribune Group, about putting in a bid.
