Roger Mosey on how the BBC will cover London 2012

By paulmcnally

The BBC has unveiled plans to provide live coverage of every event in the London 2012 Olympics using a mixture of radio, digital television and online.

The corporation’s former head of sport, Roger Mosey, who has taken up the newly created job of overseeing its Olympics coverage, told the Guardian that the Games will be a major test for the BBC in the year of analogue switch-off.

“As the abdication was to radio and the coronation to television, so the Olympics [will] be to digital Britain,” he said. “We want to deliver every event live. At the moment we can only do six live streams. We want to have 20 when there are 20 events going on.”
