Report: Ally McCoist hacked by the News of the World

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has been told his phone was hacked by the News of the World.

McCoist was contacted by officers from the Met and Strathclyde Police, according to a report in the Daily Record.

A source told the paper

He has received calls from the police telling him they believe he was hacked.

He expected he might have heard more, perhaps a letter. But he’s not heard anything, so he’s waiting to see how things develop.

The Record named the ‘growing list of Scots’hacked by allegedly hacked by the paper:

Tommy Sheridan’s mum Alice, 73, when she was fighting cancer.

Sir Sean Connery, whose phone was hacked at least 10 times.

SNP MSP and Record columnist Joan McAlpine.

Sarah Heaney, 42, who presented Scotland Today for six years.

Former First Minister Jack McConnell and his two children, who are suing for breach of privacy.

According to the Record, so far Alice Sheridan and McConnell are the only others who have confirmed they are taking legal action.
