A Northern Ireland property developer has won £30,000 in damages from the Belfast-based Sunday World over a story about an arson attack in a Belfast retail complex and alleged corruption involving government contracts, the BBC reports.
Frank Boyd sued over a story in the 25 January edition of the Sunday World headed: “Whistleblower sparks fraud squad probe into MoD contracts”. The Sunday World has apologised in open court as well as agreeing to pay costs and damages to Boyd
Yesterday Press Gazette reported how a woman said to be the “secret mistress” of a radio presenter was suing the Sunday World for privacy and defamation.
