Former Cedar Communications board director Dan Davey has joined Progressive Media to launch a new customer publishing division.
Press Gazette was bought by Progressive in April last year and the group also includes New Statesman.
Progressive Customer Publishing is described by Progressive as “a new company focused on delivering contract publishing solutions across online and offline platforms, both domestically and internationally”.
Progressive has offices in the UK, USA, India and Australia and states that it has 2000 employees globally.
CEO of Progressive private portfolio companies Joe Terreni said: ‘As a fast-expanding media group already publishing over 200 trade and business magazines, 100 websites and managing 50-plus events, it was a natural extension to launch a company focused on contract publishing.
“Progressive Customer Publishing will offer brands a truly cross-platform and international service solution, utilising the broad and experienced resource we have across the group, both public and private. Dan was a natural choice to bring in as MD with his impeccable track record and huge experience in dealing with major international brands like Tesco, TUI, Nikon and Reuters.”
Davey said: ‘Launching Progressive Customer Publishing is a fantastic opportunity. The contract publishing market has grown substantially over the last 20 years and the chance to build a new agency that can offer a truly integrated solution across all media channels and platforms, here in the UK and overseas in both established and emerging markets, is one that was impossible to turn down.”
