Paper round: Ken Livingstone, Elisabeth Murdoch, Sir Trevor McDonald, Jeremy Paxman

By paulmcnally

The Mail on Sunday has published a still from the Channel 4 Dispatches documentary on London mayor Ken Livingstone, which is due to TX tomorrow night. A spokesman for Livingstone has called the programme a “hatchet job” and described some of the claims made in it as “ludicrous”.

The Observer profiles Rupert Murdoch’s daughter, Elisabeth, who has “proved there is life after Sky”. Elisabeth Murdoch founded TV production company Shine in 2001, but the paper says “perhaps it would be unwise to discount Elisabeth, who turns 40 this year, as a possible heir to her father’s throne”.

News at Ten anchor Sir Trevor McDonald missed an exclusive interview with prime minister Gordon Brown which had been scheduled for 8am on the morning after the bulletin’s launch, according to the Mail on Sunday. The paper says Downing Street agreed to reschedule the meeting for 4pm.

And finally, Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman has sent an email to the chief executive of Marks and Spencer, Sir Stuart Rose, in protest at the declining quality of their underwear, the Mail on Sunday claims.
