Nick Lester, lobby correspondent for Northcliffe Media, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Newspaper Conference.
He replaces Sam Lister, reporter for Press Association Lobby Extra, who has held the post for the past year, the Newspaper Society reported this morning.
The Newspaper Conference is made up of London editors and political correspondents of papers which claim membership of the Newspaper Society.
The conference revolves around a series of lunch meetings at which senior politicians answer questions from the regional press.
