Sarah Sands sheds some light today on surprise move out of newspapers to edit the UK edition of Reader’s Digest. Explaining her move to the 750,000 selling monthly she says: “Newspapers are generally sceptical and bleak, and I feel they miss out on a very important part of the spirit of humanity and they have a very partial view of humankind.”
She is leaving the job she has held since being ousted as editor of the Sunday Telegraph two years ago – consulting editor of the Daily Mail. And she told The Guardian “it never crossed her mind” to go for the job of editor of the Evening Standard.
