The New York Times has come out in support of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, after a “long and fractious internal debate at the newspaper”, The Independent reports.
In a leader on Friday, the New York Times said its editorial board “strongly recommends that [the Democrats] select Hillary Clinton as their nominee for the 2008 presidential election”.
“The next president needs to start immediately on challenges that will require concrete solutions, resolve, and the ability to make government work,” the paper said. “Mrs Clinton is more qualified, right now, to be president.
