By andrew

The former news editor of the Scottish News of the World has joined newspaper publishers Clyde and Forth Media to oversee its titles in Clyde and Ayrshire.

Craig Jackson joins the company on Monday, according to a report on allmediascotland.com, when he will become editorial manager at the Clydebank Post, Dumbarton Reporter, Helensburgh Advertiser and the Renfrewshire Gazette.

He will also oversee the Ardrossan Herald, Ayr Advertiser, Cumnock Chronicle, Largs News and the Irvine Times.

Clyde and Forth Media managing director Graham Morrison told allmediascotland:

This appointment strengthens the management team at an exciting time for the company. I am confident that Craig will cope with the challenges set by this demanding role, and I am certain that his new colleagues will join with me in wishing him every success in this important position.

Jackson worked at the Scottish News of the World until its closure in July.
