Local World has named Lisa Templeton as the new editor of the North Devon Journal.
Templeton has been acting editor of the weekly paid-for title since May this year while former editor Chloe Hubbard was seconded to work on Local World’s “transformation team”.
Hubbard has now left the regional publishing group to join Mail Online next month.
Templeton said: “Over the past few months I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the talented and enthusiastic team in Barnstaple.
“I am excited about taking on the role permanently and am looking forward to the challenges ahead for our strong print and web products in North Devon.”
Mark Devon, managing director of Cornwall and Devon Media, added: “Whilst I am sorry Chloe is not returning to the North Devon Journal I am very pleased that Lisa has accepted the editor’s role. Lisa has proved in the very short time at the Journal she has the passion, vision and expertise to really develop the title both in print and online.”
According to the latest figures from ABC from December 2012, the North Devon Journal has an average weekly circulation of 24,160.
