The new controller of BBC Five Live has pledged to bring in new people when the station relocates to Salford in 2011.
Adrian Van Klaveren told BBC in-house magazine Ariel: “Of course not everyone wants to go, but I believe that enough will be prepared to move. We’ll be bringing in new people. If we bring in the right people we can end up with an even stronger station.
“What Salford offers is a chance to remake 5 Live and recapture that pioneering spirit.”
Van Klaveren also confirmed that the station’s phone-ins, which have been a source of criticism, are set to stay.
