James Murdoch’s pay-TV giant, Sky, is likely to miss its 10 million subscriber target by 2010, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
BSkyB needs to add 400,000 customers a year to hit the target, but according to industry estimates, it will announce 380,000 new recruits in its end-of-year results at the end of July.
• Meanwhile, Sky is likely to find out this week whether its appeal against a Competition Commission ruling that it must sell its stake in ITV has been successful. The company has lost millions of pounds after ITV’s share price continued to tumble.
