An Aberdeen sheriff has lifted a reporting restriction which prevented the media from identifying a 15-year-old boy who attacked a Big Issue vendor, reports allmediascotland.com.
Sheriff Annella Cowan said the media could publish the name, address and photograph of the boy because in “the climate of cases of violent assaults by young people” it was in the public interest to lift the restrictions and that “publicity is part of the publishment”.
