Mail Online, the website of the Daily Mail, seems to have been caught out by a message posted to Twitter by a fake Steve Jobs account stating that new version of the iPhone may have to be recalled.
Sensing a potentially hot story Mail Online followed up the Twitter message by posting a story saying the ‘much-vaunted’new smartphone may be recalled ‘Apple boss Steve Jobs revealed last night”.
According the TheWall blog, Mail Online repeated the @CEOSteveJobs Twitter message, which stated: ‘We may have to recall the new iPhone. This, I did not expect”.
However, it seems to have overlooked the details on the @CEOSteveJobs account as its states ‘Of course this is a parody account” and contains a series of other messages which could draw doubts as to its authenticity, including: ‘Just FaceTimed my wife. If you know what I mean.”

Users of the iPhone 4 have been experiencing a series of technical problems with the new devise since it was launched earlier this month, which led to Mail’s story.
