Liberal Democrat MP Mike Hancock's son has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following an incident involving a photographer, Hampshire police said.
Dean Hancock, 37, was released on bail and will appear at Fareham Magistrates Court on February 12.
His father, the MP for Portsmouth South, was suspended on Wednesday from the party following the leak of an unpublished report into his conduct, which found "compelling" evidence of "serious and unwelcome sexual behaviour" towards a vulnerable woman constituent.
Photographer Steve Reigate was involved in the incident in which is camera was thrown to the ground.
Journalists had gathered outside Hancock’s house in the wake of a leaked report about the MP’s actions.
It is believed that Dean Hancock was trying to stop pictures being taken of his mother as she drove away.
Solent News has a series of pictures showing the incident (Mail Online).
