The BBC’s in-house magazine Ariel and Broadcast magazine have received complaints from Jonathan Ross’s lawyers for “material inaccuracies” in their stories, according to The Independent.
Broadcast followed up an Ariel story which quoted Channel 4’s deputy chair Baron Puttnam on the BBC’s negotiations to sign up Ross until 2010. Ross’s lawyers, Schillings, issued letters to the publications after they quoted his reported salary, which the presenter said is a private matter between him and the corporation.
Braodcast is said to have faced a request for damages and the issue has yet to be resolved.
