The Daily Mail has been having fun with its latest swipe at the profligacy of the public sector: ‘Jobzilla Bingo’, every Thursday, in which sits vac ads from the previous day’s Society section of the Guardian are reproduced while readers are asked to cross off the buzz words they contain – ‘collaborative’, ‘stakeholders’, ‘cohesion’ … you know the kind of thing.

But wait, what’s this? Turn to page 70 of the paper on the very same day and we have Career Mail: ‘The secret to going public’, in which readers are advised how best to bag one of those much-derided public sector jobs, complete with three case studies from suitably glib, taxpayer-funded trolls.

In fact, all that was missing was the cross ref …
