An independent free monthly newspaper distributed across Glasgow for the last 14 years is to close down, according to a report.
Local News Glasgow was forced to close because of difficulties generating ad revenue sufficient to keep it open – it had just published its 151 issue in December.
“If I had been a hard-nosed business person, I would have wrapped it up a long time ago. Towards the end, it was the love of it, rather than money, that kept it going,” owner Grace Franklin, who will now return to a freelance career, told AllMediaScotland.
