A full page ad in today’s Evening Standard provides the first peak at what ‘i’ will look like – the new spin-off daily being launched by The Independent next Tuesday.
Both the Standard and the Independent are owned by Alexander Lebedev. News of the launch of ‘i’ made a page two lead story in today’s Standard.
The Standard described ‘i’ as the first new quality daily to be launched in the UK in 25 years (The Independent was launched in October 1986).
The big question is whether, if it is successful – will ‘i’ end up replacing the Indy mothership.
