Entries open for 2014 Paul Foot Award

By William Turvill

Entries have opened for the 2014 Paul Foot Award for investigative and campaigning journalism.

The award, now in its tenth year, was set up by Private Eye and The Guardian in memory of investigative journalist Paul Foot.

Submissions will be accepted for material published in a newspaper, magazine or online between 1 November 2013 and 31 October 2014. No broadcast material is accepted.

Submissions are accepted from individual journalists, teams or an entire publication, and the winning entry is awarded £5,000, with runner-up entries receiving £1,000 each.

The deadline for entries is 10 November, the shortlist will be announced in January 2015 and the award is held in February 2015.

David Cohen, of the Evening Standard, won the 2013 Paul Foot Award for his Frontline London campaign. Andrew Norfolk, of The Times, and Nick Davies, of The Guardian, were the 2011 and 2012 winners respectively.

More information about the awards can be found at www.privateeye.co.uk.
