Business publishing business Emap saw a 35 per cent fall in pre-tax profits to £9.4m in 2011 on turnover down 7 per cent to £49.5m, the Guardian reports.
Public sector titles such as Local Government Chronicle, Nursing Times and Health Service Journal are said to have been hit by a fall in public sector advertising.
Overall Top Right Group, which also includes events and data divisions, delivered pre-tax profits of £52.4m on turnover up 3 per cent to £249.4m.
