Eight foreign journalists have been allowed into Hamas-controlled Gaza for the first time since the conflict began three weeks ago.
The Jerusalem Post reports that the decision followed campaigning by groups including a petition by the Israeli Foreign Press Association, the representative body for international journalists in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
The paper has reported that six members of the press were selected by an FPA lottery and the other two chosen by the Government press office.
The news comes after some foreign journalists had entered Gaza independently, including the BBC’s Paul Wood.
