Chelsea FC banned a reporter from The Sun on Friday after that day’s paper revealed player Ashley Cole’s extra-marital activities. The club said it was necessary to maintain good relations with the paper.
The Croydon Advertiser was banned from attending Crystal Palace matches for a fortnight last week after the paper printed only part of a club statement in response to a story about a player’s arrest.
