Canadian freelance faces jail

By Julie Tomlin

Freelance journalist James Di Fiore could face jail after he voted more than once in the 2004 federal elections and then wrote an article exposing flaws in Canada’s voting system.

Canada’s National Post reports that after writing the story for NOW, a Toronto weekly alternative newspaper, Di Fiore now faces charges under the Canada Elections Act, the same piece of legislation he fought to reform.
