BSME Awards: BBC leads with 18 nominations

The magazine publishing wing of the BBC received a total of 18 nominations today as shortlists were announced for the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards 2010.

The BBC’s nominations came in ten of the 22 award categories – including launch of the year and editor’s editor of the year.

IPC Media was close behind with 17 nominations, followed by the National Magazine Company with 13 nominations. Condé Nast Publications  and Redwood each garnered ten nominations.

Here are the BBC’s nominations:

Lifestyle Magazines:
Gillian Carter – Good Food
Peter Grunert – Lonely Planet Magazine
Christine Hayes – Olive

Sport, Leisure & Health:
Adam Pasco – Gardeners’ World Magazine
Juliet Roberts – Gardens Illustrated

Special Interest & Hobbies Magazines:
David Musgrove – History Magazine
Jheni Osman – Focus

Youth Magazines:
Steph Cooper – Cbeebies Art
Ian Foster – Match of the Day
Peter Hart – Top Of The Pops Magazine
Sam Robinson – Girl Talk

Launch of the year:
Andrea Turton – CBeebies Specials

The Fiona MacPherson new editor of the year – consumer:
Fergus Collins – Countryfile Magazine
Ben Preston – Radio Times

Art director of the year – consumer (weekly or fortnightly):
Shem Law – Radio Times

Website editor of the year – consumer:
Andrea McGinniss – bbcgoodfood.com

Editor’s editor of the year:
Gillian Carter – Good Food
