A local newspaper journalist who lives in Bridgend has added to the criticism of how the national press covered a series of suicides among young people.
“The finger of blame increasingly points to the blanket coverage, particularly in the national press,” the journalist writes on the Guardian’s Comment is Free blog.
Local government officials and parents of some of the dead teenagers have this week accused the press of glamourising suicide – and possibly prompting copycat attempts.
