One of London Mayor Ken Livingstone’s senior advisers has resigned after an investigation by the BBC.
BBC London revealed that Rosemary Emodi, the deputy to Livingstone’s chief race adviser, had accepted a free trip to Nigeria from Virgin.
Her resignation comes in the same week that Channel 4 broadcast a Dispatches investigation into Livingstone, compiled by New Statesman political editor Martin Bright.
The Evening Standard yesterday ran a story by Andrew Gilligan revealing the official website for Livingstone’s re-election campaign is registered to Mark Watts, the mayor’s climate change adviser.
The paper claims the web address was registered while Watts was working at City Hall – a breach of the Greater London Authority’s rules on campaigning.
