A BBC staffer has made a Google map showing all BBC correspondents around the world, reports in-house magazine Ariel.
Stuart Pinfold, who works in the traffic department of BBC Television Centre, thought of the idea while taking calls from the corporation’s foreign correspondents, either recording their despatches or sending them on to radio stations for live broadcast.
The map highlights each reporter’s base location and a list of stories filed. Plans are underway to add World Service radio stringers and correspondents and perhaps create a separate map for UK correspondents.
