Appy days: Royal Baby news straight to your phone courtesy of PA and Future

By Gavriel Hollander

Future and the Press Association have buddied up to produce a new app in celebration of the imminent arrival of the latest member of the House of Windsor.

The Royal Baby app, launched as the world’s media camps out in West London awaiting the arrival of a purple-liveried stork, will keep HRH fans up to speed on the latest developments.

The app, which comes after the much-hyped but never confirmed due date came and went at the weekend, will also feature exclusive photography of Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge and, when he or she finally deigns to make an appearance, the baby itself.

Mike Goldsmith, editor-in-chief Digital Editions at Future, said: “The Royal Baby App is a great mix of exclusive content and gorgeous photography celebrating the biggest event of the year. We plan to have an in-app chapter featuring the first photography of the royal baby inside the app for sale the same day as Kate and William show off their new arrival — the world is waiting and so are our designers!"

The first edition of the app for iPhone, iPad and iPod is free with four additional 'chapters' set to come out priced 69p. The app is powered by Future's own Future Folio technology.
