AOL has beefed up the editorial offering of its glossy women’s website MyDaily.co.uk by signing X Factor judge Dannii Minogue as a contributing editor.
The year-long deal will see Minogue produce three articles a week throughout 2011 – it will be her first major writing or editorial role.
The deal with Minogue is part of AOL’s ongoing strategy to publish more high-calibre editorial content on its websites.
In a statement AOL UK said it hoped the deal would help them become the ‘largest producer of premium programming online by creating high quality branded content that delivers a unique rich experience to consumers and provides advertisers with a large an engaged audience.”
Minogue will join other regular contributors to the site including former Guardian and Independent regular Laura Smith and WGSN’s Joanna McGinn.
MyDaily was set up in September this year to sit alongside AOL’s existing UK sites aimed at women -including Kitchen Daily, Lomondrop and Stylist.
Carla Bevan, editor of MyDaily.co.uk, said the site aimed to become ‘the definitive destination for super-stylish, quick thinking women in the UK… delivering inspiring, entertain and informative features for women who as much about today’s hemlines as today’s headlines.”
