A new Press Gazette service: 10 new journalism jobs today

Today Press Gazette launches a new service for readers which aims to take some of the legwork out of the job-hunting process for journalists.

Every day we will be scouring the web for the best new journalism job vacancies advertised anywhere and summarising them in a daily post on The Wire.

Today’s journalism jobs:

BBC South is looking for Head of Regional and Local Programmes. The applicants will be able to demonstrate their availability to formulate the region’s strategy. The closing date for applications is 20 September, 2009.

BBC Oxford – a multi media broadcast centre operated by a team of journalists and programme makers – is looking for a Senior Broadcast Journalist. The applicant should be a talented and experienced television producer who can continue the development of the TV outputs journalism and production creativity. The closing date for applications is 20 September, 2009.

BBC West is looking for a talented video journalist to cover Somerset. It wants someone who has a track record of being closely involved in original and memorable stories, and who can help provide first rate coverage of breaking news, no matter when it happens. The role is based in Taunton. The closing date for applications is 22 September, 2009.

London-based PR agency, Results News & PR, is looking for journalists who can write copy which will excite newsdesks and win its clients coverage. The company is looking for ‘born leaders with strong journalistic backgrounds.”

Farmer’s Guardian, the farmer’s newspaper which is a part of UBM, needs a machinery editor based in Preston who is passionate about machinery, and is keen to be out and about on farm, as well as meeting key players in the machinery world.

The Press in York wants to hire a features writer, ideally NCE qualified. The closing date for applications is 23 September 2009.

Diss Express of Norfolk is looking for a ‘jack of all trades’reporter who can bring in off-diary exclusives every week. The applicant will be expected to play a major part in the direction of the paper. The closing date for applications is 2 October, 2009.

The London Advice Services Alliance (LASA) is looking for a writer / editor for its welfare rights website for advice workers www.rightsnet.org.uk. The position is for 35 hours per week. Salary PO1 Point 33, £30,843 (pay award pending) plus 3 per cent pension contribution. The applicant should be an experienced welfare rights worker to assist LASA in the delivery of its rightsnet website service. The deadline for applications is 28 September, 2009.

Runnymede Online is looking for an editor (c. £27k full time). The applicant is expected to manage all aspects of Runnymede’s online presence and lead on its website re-launch to create space for the promotion of evidence based responses to race inequality. The deadline for applications is 30 September, 2009.

Fleet Street Publications based in London is looking for a freelance financial writer who is “looking for a brand new platform to share your alternative opinions of today’s financial issues”.
