This is Rugby League is a new monthly magazine covering the St Helens, Wigan, Warrington and Widnes areas, where it launches next week.
The magazine is published by Newsquest (Cheshire/Merseyside) and is written by rugby league reporters from the company’s weekly newspapers – the St Helens Star, Widnes World and Warrington Guardian – with some freelance support.
The first issue will be 28 colour pages with a glossy cover and costs £1.50. Editor Mike Crichley said: “This area represents the very heartlands of rugby league, a sport that is very much part of the fabric of our four towns. We believe our strength will be our ability to zoom into local issues and reflect the inter-town rivalries.”
