IPC has appointed John Smigielski as the new editor of its home interest titles 25 Beautiful Kitchens and 25 Beautiful Gardens, writes Ruth Addicott.
Smigielski has been acting editor on both titles as well as editor of 25 Beautiful Homes since March, while editor Rhoda Parry was on maternity leave.
He was previously associate editor on Country Homes & Interiors.
Publishing director Yvonne Ramsden said a new position had been created for Smigielski as 25 Beautiful Kitchens had established itself as the UK’s biggest-selling kitchens magazine and needed a dedicated editor to steer it forward as a standalone title. “John has done a really excellent job covering for Rhoda and so was the obvious candidate to take on this new role for the kitchens and gardens titles,” she said.
Parry is due to return from maternity leave this month to oversee 25 Beautiful Homes, which has increased its frequency to 13 issues a year.
