One junior defence minister, in a briefing to journalists, called outgoing army chief Sir Richard Dannatt a very rude word indeed – according to Kelvin MacKenzie writing in The Sun today.
He referred to him as a ***t, with MacKenzie adding: (no, it’s not aunt).
Dannatt has made himself unpopular with some members of the Government by speaking out about a lack of army equipment in Afghanistan.
In an apparent reference to defence secretary Bob Ainsworth – MacKenzie says in his column today: “There’s only one ***t in the MoD.”
Ainsworth has failed to answer MacKenzie’s questions on how much capital gains tax he paid after ‘flipping’ his second home. So today MacKenzie printed the email address of Ainsworth’s assistant and asked Sun readers to write to her direct.
The MacKenzie column only available in the print edition.
