Two serving prison officers have been arrested under Operation Elveden.
According to the Metropolitan Police, both men were held at their home in Kent at 6am this morning.
The arrests mean that 69 people, including at least 28 journalists, have now been arrested under Operation Elveden, Scotland Yard's probe into illegal payments to public officials.
The first man, 52, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office, contrary to Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and misconduct in a public office, contrary to Common Law and is being interviewed at a South London police station.
The second, 26, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office, contrary to Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and money laundering contrary to Section 328 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and is being interviewed at a Kent police station.
