A Met police officer arrested yesterday as part of the Operaiton Elveden investigation has been released on bail.
The 51-year-old man was arrested at 6am at his home in Wiltshire on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and has since been bailed until a date in March. He has also been suspended from duties.
He is the 61st person to be arrested under the Elveden probe into allegations of illegal payments to police and public officials.
The Met said yesterday’s arrest was the result of information provided to police by News Corp's Management and Standards Committee and relates to the suspected release of confidential information
The officer worked in the territorial policing command based in west London.
