Hacked Off says Committee to Protect Journalists has embraced ‘staggering misrepresentation’ of media regulation plan

Pressure group Hacked Off has urged the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) to support press regulation.

Hacked Off’s executive director Professor Brian Cathcart wrote to the CPJ asking the group to “examine the facts more closely” and reconsider its position.

The head of the CPJ, Joel Simon, wrote to David Cameron on Wednesday, criticising the plans for Royal Charter-backed system of press regulation.
