Following the death of photojournalist Zahra Kazemi while in custody in Iran last month, there has been a wave of fresh arrests of journalists, according to Reporters Without Borders.
At least 14 journalists were thought to have been arrested in the country in the space of a month.
Half of the detained journalists were being held in the same centre where Kazemi, a photographer with Canadian and Iranian citizenship, received the blows to the head that killed her.
Among the latest journalists to be detained is Abolgasem Golbaf, editor of the monthly journal Gozarech.
He was arrested by the authorities on 20 July for “propaganda against the regime and publishing incorrect information”.
