Leicester Mercury in City football deal

By Press Gazette

The Leicester Mercury Group has signed a three-year agreement to be Leicester City Football Club’s of?cial marketing partner.

They will work together on prematch entertainment, community events, club memorabilia displays and initiatives for young people in Leicestershire.

Editor Nick Carter said the deal would allow the editorial team to provide more for fans of the club. The paper will be running new sections such as the Dreams page, in which fans can write in with their footballing dreams. The paper will work with the club to try and make it come true.

There will also be link-ups such as competitions, in which fans will be able to win prizes such as boots worn by goal scorers.

Carter added: “We won’t be soft pedalling around the club. We are still there to provide a platform for fans to give their opinions on the club.”
