British freelance journalist Paul Martin, who was jailed a month ago in Gaza, was today released.
He left Gaza via the Erez crossing into Israel and has signed a pledge not to return.
Martin was arrested on 14 February in a Gaza court where he had intended to give evidence on behalf of a Palestinian militant charged with collaborating with Israel.
Hamas officials accused Martin of being a security threat, but did not charge him.
Martin is understood to have worked with the accused man during the production of a documentary film. He was the first foreign journalist to be arrested since Hamas took control in Gaza in 2007.
Martin has worked for The Times, the Daily Mirror and the BBC.
